MQ’s 2020 Lockdown Challenge: 20k in May

£10.00

After some posts in the group wondering if we would do another virtual challenge – not seen since 2018 – we decided, why not! Rather than try to have new medals shipped (who knows how long that would take) we thought we’d bring back the 2018 UKMQ medal for those that may not have got the opportunity to grab one and because, well, we have a few leftover.

While there are so many important charities out there, MQHQ wanted to push ALL the profits made from this challenge to the NHS Charities Together. This is how some of the money is being used…

“…providing somewhere comfortable so staff and volunteers can take a break, access to nutritious food and drink, use of electronic-tablets so patients, staff and volunteers can stay in contact with loved ones, and counselling support to protect mental health and help staff and volunteers process what they are dealing with.

Some of the funding is also going towards helping partnerships outside hospitals, such as hospices, community healthcare and social care, making sure patients leaving hospital have access to the care they need to recover. ”

THE CHALLENGE

To move for 20 kilometres or more in May. Whether you walk it, bike it, or run it, challenge yourself. At the time of writing this, we are still in lockdown which means we are encouraging you to stick to the guidelines provided by the government. Can’t get out? We’ve seen people do amazing things in their gardens, their living rooms even. Post up your pics with #MQ20kInMay, get creative and wear a crown (doesn’t have to be on your head!). Want to challenge yourself further? DO IT! Let us know if you’re spicing it up with a few beloved burpees 😈

Medals will be posted out once we head into June –

Wholehearted thanks for reading and getting involved – we can’t wait to see the pictures on Facebook and instagram

Be kind to one another,
